The Gift Theatre announced its 2016 season this week, which includes productions of Shakespeare's Richard III, as well as The Grapes of Wrath and A Life Ordinary.
Richard III was originally announced to go up at Next Theatre in Evanston. Those plans were tossed when Next shuttered its doors last year. The production, directed by Jessica Thebus, will now be a part of Steppenwolf's Garage Rep and will star Michael Patrick Thornton in the leading role. The production is slated to begin in March.
Gift Theatre's home is at 4802 N. Milwaukee Avenue in the Chicago neighborhood of Jefferson Park.

Featuring bold stories by up-and-coming authors alongside modern riffs on classic tales, The Other Theatre Company seems to be reinventing itself after an inaugural season featuring productions of Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 and Bent.
