Otherworld Theatre has announced that two festivals will mark the end of the summer at the venue, with GENRE-THON in August and The 7th Annual JUGGERNAUT FILM FESTIVAL in September.
This year's Juggernaut Festival will feature 85 science fiction, fantasy and horror films, including Yamasong, the first all-puppet feature in over a decade, which features the voice acting of Whoopie Goldberg, George Tekei, Ed Asner, Nathan Fillion, and more. The festival also includes dozens of short films.
It's the inaugural year for the "geek and genre-centric comedy celebration" known as GENRE-THON. The festival, headlined by Improvised Star Trek and Improvised Jane Austen, also highlights Otherworld's in-house improv team, Out On A Whim (Improvised Dungeons and Dragons), and their in-house team behind "A Taste of Man-Flesh: A Lord of the Rings Parody" in conjunction with the festival. Action film inspired sketch team, The Stuntmen bring their prop-heavy comedy to the fest, and P.S. Burlesque will offer sexy nerdlesque.
Passes to both festivals will be available later this week at www.otherworldtheatre.org. Both events will take place at Otherworld Theatre at 3914 N. Clark St, Chicago, Illinois.
