Blank Theatre Company, Chicago’s newest non-equity
storefront theatre company, will continue their fundraising efforts for their first
season with a one night only, staged concert
of Songs for a New World. This touching song cycle examines life, love and the choices
that we make.
Songs for a New World features music and lyrics by Jason Robert
Brown and original orchestrations by Brian Besterman and Jason Robert Brown. The concert
will be directed by Dustin Rothbart with
musical direction by Aaron Kaplan.
The cast includes Blank founders Dustin Rothbart, Claire Latourette and guest artists Kyrie Courter (Mary Christine at Boho Theatre), Britain Gebhardt (Carrie 2: The Rage at Underscore Theatre), Kayla Kennedy (Mamma Mia at Marriott Theatre), Sarah Jean Mergener (Standby at Towle Theatre), Matthew Thomas Provencal (Sweeney Todd at Paramount Theatre) and Travis Austin Wright (The Scottsboro Boys at Porchlight Music Theatre). The concert will be presented at Mary’s Attic, 5400 N. Clark St, Chicago IL 60640 in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. Additional information is available at blanktheatrecompany.com.
